(by http://www.torontosun.com) Prince Charles and Camilla made their rounds at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on their final day in Toronto. Charles and Camilla were at Exhibition Place around 10 a.m. yesterday where they officially opened this year’s Royal Winter Fair. The two rode a horse-drawn wooden carriage into the Ricoh Coliseum ring where his highness announced, “Nothing could give me greater pleasure than to declare the 87th Royal Winter Fair open.” The couple then split up so Charles could chat with beef farmers and check out Ontario’s largest pumpkins and unique vegetables. Camilla saw horses in the stables and Superdogs. Everywhere each went, large crowds of at least a hundred followed. After shaking hands with Canadian dignitaries, including Lt. Gov. David Onley, the royal couple climbed the steps of the CC-150 Polaris airbus and very briefly turned and waved to the crowd before their plane took off to Victoria, B.C. After their stops in British Columbia, the couple will visit Montreal and Ottawa, where they will end their 11-day tour Nov. 12. |
